Something about where the sand meets the water is strange. Maybe it's that the line is too broken and rough? Normally where sand meets water is pretty straight, a little rippled here and there. I love the shading and the sea looks great (though it could have more sparklies IMO), and I love the sky! It's so pretty with the shooting star. Great job Yue!

Hmm... well... it's not always straight, I think? The shore line I mean. But ripples... hmm.... *ponders* I think that I need references now (TT__TT ) Now that you mention it, sparkles, that's what I forgot!! *D'oh* I guess I have to use Photoshop or Painter for that bit. Opencanvas is hard to get use to.

The stars I had a hard time trying to get it looking like stars. They were like blobs or dots when you see it up close. LOL

Well I guess I kinda meant that the shoreline itself is rippled, that't the only word I could think out. Umm....yeah it's not going to be straight, but closer up it changes very slowy. Am I making any sense? I can barely understand myself.

I remember this one from your last gallery and I still really love it a very richly atmosphered pic and a very interesting choice of fanart for the character

Yeah... I put the first one into in the scraps at my old a/c because it was in progress. But now I'm at the point of killing it and fill the void of this new empty gallery. LOL

Most of the stuff I will be reviewing from the old one will be push to be finish here. So... you have seen most of them before and stuff.

Since I know you for a while. I think you won't mind some critque.

To make the sea more convincing, just add some organic/irregular oval shapes. Do not paint the sea with flat out just horizontal direction, google some references, and observe the variety of shapes in the sea.

You did the cloud quite nicely. But some area flattens because there's the lack of transition in the colors to define the shapes. Clouds are just as good as solid objects, they have very clear forms, volume definitation.

For the girl, you need to give some more clues to her anatomy, right now it looks rigid, not even cartoony enough to get by. Add some subtle curves to her arm, use more foldings on the clothing to suggest the fabric material. For a plus, define her back bone and shoulder pad.

The compositon will look more content full if there's something far away in the sea, like an island, a boat, or even a floating, broken sea light... just a little something to add to the picture.
